Qualifying for The Ohio Valley Hospital School of Nursing Program
The completion of the following high school or introductory college level courses with a letter grade of “C” or better are required:
- Biology with Laboratory
- Chemistry with Laboratory
Students must also obtain a passing score on our pre-entrance exam.
The exam is the Test of Essential Academic Skills, (TEAS), Booklet 1, which is a scholastic aptitude test made up of 170 questions which must be completed within 3 hours’ time. The academic skills tested in the TEAS are Reading, Mathematics, Science and English/Language usage. The results are scored using an Adjusted Individual Score.
The OVH School of Nursing offers the TEAS Study Guide for $50. This guide is written to address the needs of students preparing for this assessment. The guide is available for purchase at School’s Admission Office. All test takers must create an ATI profile prior to taking the exam. Please log onto www.atitesting.com, click on Create New Account and follow the screen instructions. After the tester has registered on the website, a personal paper/pencil ID will be displayed; please print for your records.
