Nutrition Services for Inpatients:
Each patient who is admitted to the hospital is screened for nutritional risk within 24 hours of admission. If the patient is screened for “nutritional risk” a Registered Dietitian will be assigned to visit that patient within 24 hours to complete a more detailed assessment and follow up. The Registered Dietitian will determine a plan of action that may include diet education, diet modification, and supplementation of diet or the use of alternative forms of nutrition support. The goal is to enhance the healing process by maximizing nutrient intake.
