Mission Statement
The Ohio Valley General Hospital Radiography Program and its academic affiliate, La Roche College, strive to meet the needs of the communities we serve by offering a radiologic technology program that provides an environment for the development of competent and professional future radiologic technologists by offering a solid clinical and theoretical background in the Radiologic Sciences.

Ohio Valley General Hospital/La Roche College Radiography Program
The Ohio Valley General Hospital/La Roche College Radiography Program is a full-time, primarily daylight program that is 24 months in length, including two summers. Classes start at the end of August. Although schedules may vary, students typically attend classes at the hospital two to three days per week during the fall and spring semesters, and three to five days per week during summer sessions.
Students successfully completing the program are awarded a certificate in Radiologic Technology and an associate degree in Health Science with a concentration in Radiologic Technology from La Roche College. They are then eligible to take the national certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Students passing the national certification examination with a score of 75 percent or higher are then recognized professionally as registered radiologic technologists.

The Field of Radiologic Technology
A radiologic technologist, or radiographer, is a health care professional who plays an important role in patient care by assisting with the diagnosis and treatment of illness and disease. Through the use of x-rays, radiologic technologists perform sophisticated diagnostic imaging tests that uncover a wide range of medical conditions, helping doctors determine the best course of treatment for their patients.
