Another Great F.O.R. Food Drive Turn Out!
Thank you to everyone who donated a non-perishable food item, toiletry, or check to this quarter’s FOR Food Bank drive. We successfully collected 240 items for those in need. The best part is, thanks to a grant by The Feinstein Foundation, every item we collected this month =$1 to the FOR Food Bank!!
Some of these items included:
12 Jars of Peanut Butter
59 Assorted Toiletries
22 Cans of Soup
36 Jars of Baby Food
21 Miscellaneous Condiments
18 Cans of Vegetables
16 Boxes of Macaroni and Cheese
10 Tubes of Baby Formula
Nice work, everyone! Stay tuned for next quarter’s Food Drive!
How does it compare to what we did last time?
Thanks to your efforts back in January, we collected:
-Almost 110 cans of food (including 25 cans of tuna fish!)
-90 boxes of pasta and rice
-25 jars of peanut butter and jelly
-20 rolls of toilet paper
…along with baby food, cat food, crackers, juices, toiletry items…and much more!
That would have given the Food Bank almost $350 dollars in ADDITION to what we donated!
Need a few more reasons on why you should donate? How about….685 of them?
That’s the number of families you can help by donating a non-perishable item during our Focus On Renewal Food Drive.
With about a third of those families coming in for supplies every month, the food bank goes through about 6,000 pounds of food. While most food banks are open on a distribution day each month, the FOR Food Bank opens Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm. That means they don’t only help those registered families, but they’re available when a family loses heat, or a fire takes them out of their home. The immediacy with which they are able to react in those emergency situations only increases the number of supplies needed to successfully help others.
Here’s a sample of some much-needed items:
Hamburger Helper/Tuna Helper
Macaroni and Cheese
Tuna Fish cans
Toiletry Items; especially travel size
You can drop off your donations in the boxes provided by the Hospital Cafeteria, in the Main Lobby, and in the Medical Office Building’s Main Lobby!
